Monday of the Twenty-seventh Week in Ordinary Time

+ 독서 : 갈라티아서 1, 6-12

<복음은 어떤 사람에게서 받은 것도 아니고 배운 것도 아닙니다. 오직 그리스도의 계시를 통하여 받은 것입니다. >

해설) 바오로 사도가 전한 복음은 예수 그리스도입니다. 예수 그리스도께서는 인간을 죄와 죽음에서 벗어나게 하시고, 당신을 믿는 이들을 구원하시기 위하여 죽으시고 부활하셨습니다. 예수 그리스도의 죽으심과 부활하심으로 우리는 죄와 죽음에서 해방된 것입니다. 이 기쁜 소식을 믿는 사람은 영원한 생명을 얻을 것입니다.

형제 여러분, 6 그리스도의 은총 안에서 여러분을 불러 주신 분을 여러분이 그토록 빨리 버리고 다른 복음으로 돌아서다니, 나는 놀라지 않을 수 없습니다. 7 실제로 다른 복음은 있지도 않습니다. 그런데도 여러분을 교란시켜 그리스도의 복음을 왜곡하려는 자들이 있습니다. 8 우리는 물론이고 하늘에서 온 천사라도 우리가 여러분에게 전한 것과 다른 복음을 전한다면, 저주를 받아 마땅합니다. 9 우리가 전에도 말한 바 있지만 이제 내가 다시 한번 말합니다. 누가 여러분이 받은 것과 다른 복음을 전한다면, 그는 저주를 받아 마땅합니다. 10 내가 지금 사람들의 지지를 얻으려고 하는 것입니까? 하느님의 지지를 얻으려고 하는 것입니까? 아니면, 사람들의 비위를 맞추려고 하는 것입니까? 내가 아직도 사람들의 비위를 맞추려고 하는 것이라면, 나는 더 이상 그리스도의 종이 아닐 것입니다. 11 형제 여러분, 여러분에게 분명히 밝혀 둡니다. 내가 전한 복음은 사람에게서 비롯된 것이 아닙니다. 12 그 복음은 내가 어떤 사람에게서 받은 것도 아니고 배운 것도 아닙니다. 오직 예수 그리스도의 계시를 통하여 받은 것입니다.

+ First Reading, Galatians 1:6-12

6 I am astonished that you are so promptly turning away from the one who called you in the grace of Christ and are going over to a different gospel- 7 not that it is another gospel; except that there are trouble-makers among you who are seeking to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we ourselves or an angel from heaven preaches to you a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let God's curse be on him. 9 I repeat again what we declared before: anyone who preaches to you a gospel other than the one you were first given is to be under God's curse. 10 Whom am I trying to convince now, human beings or God? Am I trying to please human beings? If I were still doing that I should not be a servant of Christ. 11 Now I want to make it quite clear to you, brothers, about the gospel that was preached by me, that it was no human message. 12 It was not from any human being that I received it, and I was not taught it, but it came to me through a revelation of Jesus Christ.

묵상) 복음은 기쁜 소식입니다. 복음은 하느님께서 예수 그리스도를 믿는 모든 이들에게 허락하신 구원의 기쁜 소식입니다. 예수 그리스도의 기쁜 소식으로 모든 사람은 참된 자유와 해방과 생명의 삶을 살게 됩니다. 예수 그리스도께서 십자가와 부활로 온 세상을 구원하십니다. 그리스도의 복음을 믿지 않는 사람은 참으로 불행한 사람입니다.

< 누가 저의 이웃입니까? >

해설) 우리가 영원한 생명을 얻으려면 하느님의 법을 지켜야 합니다. 우리가 참 행복의 삶을 살려면 하느님 사랑의 법을 지켜야 합니다. 우리가 구원을 받으려면 사랑자체이신 하느님을 진심으로 사랑하고, 하느님을 사랑하는 그 사랑으로 이웃을 사랑해야 합니다. 사람이 영생을 얻으려면 진정 하느님을 섬기고 이웃을 사랑해야 합니다.

그때에 25 어떤 율법 교사가 일어서서 예수님을 시험하려고 말하였다. “스승님, 제가 무엇을 해야 영원한 생명을 받을 수 있습니까?” 26 예수님께서 그에게 말씀하셨다. “율법에 무엇이라고 쓰여 있느냐? 너는 어떻게 읽었느냐?” 27 그가 “‘네 마음을 다하고 네 목숨을 다하고 네 힘을 다하고 네 정신을 다하여 주 너의 하느님을 사랑하고 네 이웃을 너 자신처럼 사랑해야 한다.’ 하였습니다.” 하고 대답하자, 28 예수님께서 그에게 이르셨다. “옳게 대답하였다. 그렇게 하여라. 그러면 네가 살 것이다.” 29 그 율법 교사는 자기가 정당함을 드러내고 싶어서 예수님께, “그러면 누가 저의 이웃입니까?” 하고 물었다. 30 예수님께서 응답하셨다. “어떤 사람이 예루살렘에서 예리코로 내려가다가 강도들을 만났다. 강도들은 그의 옷을 벗기고 그를 때려 초주검으로 만들어 놓고 가 버렸다. 31 마침 어떤 사제가 그 길로 내려가다가 그를 보고서는, 길 반대쪽으로 지나가 버렸다. 32 레위인도 마찬가지로 그곳에 이르러 그를 보고서는, 길 반대쪽으로 지나가 버렸다. 33 그런데 여행을 하던 어떤 사마리아인은 그가 있는 곳에 이르러 그를 보고서는, 가엾은 마음이 들었다. 34 그래서 그에게 다가가 상처에 기름과 포도주를 붓고 싸맨 다음, 자기 노새에 태워 여관으로 데리고 가서 돌보아 주었다. 35 이튿날 그는 두 데나리온을 꺼내 여관 주인에게 주면서, ‘저 사람을 돌보아 주십시오. 비용이 더 들면 제가 돌아올 때에 갚아 드리겠습니다.’ 하고 말하였다. 36 너는 이 세 사람 가운데에서 누가 강도를 만난 사람에게 이웃이 되어 주었다고 생각하느냐?” 37 율법 교사가 “그에게 자비를 베푼 사람입니다.” 하고 대답하자, 예수님께서 그에게 이르셨다. “ 가서 너도 그렇게 하여라.”

25 And now a lawyer stood up and, to test him, asked, 'Master, what must I do to inherit eternal life?' 26 He said to him, 'What is written in the Law? What is your reading of it?' 27 He replied, 'You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.' 28 Jesus said to him, 'You have answered right, do this and life is yours.' 29 But the man was anxious to justify himself and said to Jesus, 'And who is my neighbor?' 30 In answer Jesus said, 'A man was once on his way down from Jerusalem to Jericho and fell into the hands of bandits; they stripped him, beat him and then made off, leaving him half dead. 31 Now a priest happened to be traveling down the same road, but when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. 32 In the same way a Levite who came to the place saw him, and passed by on the other side. 33 But a Samaritan traveler who came on him was moved with compassion when he saw him. 34 He went up to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring oil and wine on them. He then lifted him onto his own mount and took him to an inn and looked after him. 35 Next day, he took out two denarii and handed them to the innkeeper and said, "Look after him, and on my way back I will make good any extra expense you have." 36 Which of these three, do you think, proved himself a neighbor to the man who fell into the bandits' hands?' 37 He replied, 'The one who showed pity towards him.' Jesus said to him, 'Go, and do the same yourself.'

묵상) 사람이 영원한 생명을 얻으려면 하느님을 섬기고 이웃을 사랑해야 합니다. 우리가 영원한 생명을 얻으려면 주 하느님을 진심으로 섬기고, 하느님을 사랑하는 그 사랑으로 우리의 이웃을 사랑해야 합니다. 누가 나의 이웃인가를 따질 것이 아니라, 이웃을 필요로 하는 사람들에게 참된 이웃이 되어 주어야 합니다.

예수님께서는 우리의 이웃을 사랑하라고 하십니다. 그러나 우리는 때때로 상대방이 이웃인지 원수인지를 판단합니다. 도움이 필요한 사람에게 무조건 다가가야 합니다. 우리가 사랑받을 자격이 있어서 주님께서 우리를 사랑하신 것이 아닙니다. 우리가 죄인이며 병자이기에 주님께서 우리에게 자비를 베푸신 것입니다.

+ 루카 10, 25-37

1. 하느님을 따르는 것을 힘들게 하는 것은 무엇입니까? 내가 하느님보다 더 마음을 주고 있는 것은 무엇입니까? '네 마음을 다하고 목숨을 다하고 뜻을 다하여 주님이신 너희 하느님을 사랑하라'는 구절은 나에게 어떤 의미로 와 닿습니까? 나는 나의 모든 것과 마음을 다하여 주님을 사랑하며 따르고 있습니까?

2. 예수님께서는 왜 '네 이웃을 네 몸같이 사랑하라'는 말씀을 강조하고 계십니까? 나의 이웃은 누구입니까? 나는 지금 어려움에 빠져 도움을 청하고 있는 이웃들을 왜면하고 있지는 않습니까? 내가 어렵고 힘들었을 때 나를 도와주었던 사람들은 누구입니까? 나는 어떻게 그들을 어떻게 대하고 있습니까?

A Good Samaritan

This week our first reading comes from the New Testament and today’s passage comes from St Paul’s letter to the Galatians written about 57-58 AD. This was a predominantly Gentile Christian community in Northern Galatia in what is present-day Turkey. In today’s passage Paul reminds us that there are those who preach different things and call it ‘the good news.’ We must be on our guard against them for there is only one Gospel and we must accept it in its entirety. Believing in anything else can lead us from the truth and the love of God.

In our Gospel we have the story of the Good Samaritan which illustrates for us that everyone – including our enemies – is our neighbour and so we should reach out to them in their need no matter how inconvenient that might be. We have the example of Christ who cured people so long as they had faith in him.

Prayer :

"Dearest Lord, may I see you today and every day in the person of your sick, and whilst nursing minister to you. Though you hide yourself behind the unattractive disguise of the irritable, the exacting, the unreasonable, may I still recognize you and say: ‘Jesus, my patient, how sweet it is to serve you.’ Lord, give me this seeing faith, then my work will never be monotonous. I will ever find joy in humoring the fancies and gratifying the wishes of all poor sufferers. O beloved sick, how doubly dear you are to me, when you personify Christ; and what a privilege is mine to be allowed to tend you. Sweetest Lord, make me appreciative of the dignity of my high vocation, and its many responsibilities. Never permit me to disgrace it by giving way to coldness, unkindness, or impatience. And, O God, while you are Jesus, my patient, deign also to be to me a patient Jesus, bearing with my faults, looking only to my intention, which is to love and serve you in the person of each of your sick. 성녀 레파라타 (Saint Reparata)

성녀 레파라타는 데키우스 황제의 그리스도교 박해 때에 팔레스티나(Palestina)의 카이사레아(Caesarea)에서 순교한 동정녀이다. 그녀는 불과 12세의 나이로 체포되었는데, 집정관 앞에서도 그리스도교 신앙을 굽히지 않았다. 그녀의 미모에 마음이 흔들린 집정관은 갖은 말과 선물로 그녀에게 접근하자, 오히려 그녀가 그를 고발하려 들므로 용광로 속으로 집어던졌다. 그러나 구약의 다니엘처럼 그녀는 불속에서 하느님을 찬미하여 그를 놀라게 하였다. 이리하여 그녀는 참수 치명되었는데, 이때 그녀의 몸에서는 비둘기 같은 영혼이 천상으로 날아갔다고 한다.
